Safety Tips

Keep Your Recovery Phrase Safe

Store your recovery phrase (seed phrase) in a secure and private location. Do not share it with anyone or store it digitally. Consider writing it down and keeping it in a safe place.

Be Cautious with Phishing Scams

Be wary of phishing attempts. Never click on links or download attachments from unknown sources. Always verify the authenticity of communications claiming to be from AYA Wallet.

Regularly Update Your App

Keep your Aya Wallet app up to date with the latest version to ensure you have the latest security patches and features.

Monitor Your Transactions

Regularly check your transaction history for any unauthorized activity. Immediately set up a new wallet if that is the case.

Secure Your Device

Ensure that your device has up-to-date security software and is protected by a strong password, PIN, or biometric authentication.

Backup Your Wallet

Regularly check your backup of your wallet. This will help you recover your funds in case of device loss or failure.

Be Mindful of Public Wi-Fi

Avoid accessing your wallet over public Wi-Fi networks. Use a secure and private connection whenever possible.

Verify Recipient Addresses

Double-check the recipient's address before sending any cryptocurrency! A small mistake in the address can result in a permanent loss of funds and no one can help you then.

Use Hardware Wallets for Large Amounts

Consider using a hardware wallet for storing large amounts of cryptocurrency. Hardware wallets provide an additional layer of security by keeping your private keys offline — for example, the Ledger wallet can easily be connected to the Aya wallet.

Beware of Social Engineering

Be cautious of individuals attempting to manipulate you into revealing sensitive information. Never disclose your private keys, recovery phrases, or passwords to anyone.

Regularly Audit Permissions

Review and manage the permissions granted to applications connected to your Aya Wallet. Revoke unnecessary permissions to minimize risk.
